175th Anniversary Unity Event Lights Up
June 17 with Excitement

Don’t miss the biggest birthday bash in 175 years on Saturday, June 17, at the Shermer Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle Street. In honor of Shermer's founding in 1831, the theme of unity will be celebrated by bringing all areas of the city together in a gala event. Marching bands, torchbearers and Shermer residents will gather at four areas in the downtown and walk to the cake lighting that will begin at 10 a.m. After the birthday candles are lit, close to 20 vendors will be stationed along Webster and Water Streets to provide treats for those attending.
